When to use it
When a form makes every visitor pass a visible challenge, like a checkbox, image grid or puzzle, and completion drops at that step.
How to run it
- 1Replace the interactive challenge with invisible risk scoring, and show a real challenge only to sessions that score badly.
- 2Start cheap on a low-risk form: a hidden honeypot field plus a submission rate limit. Watch qualified leads, not raw volume.
Why it works
Make the action easier to complete
A visible challenge charges every genuine visitor to stop a small fraction who are not. W3C's own working note documents visual challenges as an accessibility barrier, and image grids that need several rounds are where completions are lost.
