Use case Β· Reddit Ads
Give every subreddit the page its ad promised.
On Reddit you choose the communities, and the ad group name says which ones. Yet the click usually lands on the same page built for Meta prospecting traffic.
Tailor uses the campaign and ad-group parameters in the URL to pick a page variant, and with a connected Reddit Ads account, shows which subreddits the spend ran in so you can choose which ad group to work on first.

The problem
Specific communities, one generic page
A Reddit campaign is a list of communities with a creative for each. r/sysadmin gets a different ad than r/smallbusiness. The two audiences would not read the same post, so it is worth testing whether they should read the same landing page. A campaign-level conversion rate cannot tell you.
Redditors also notice. A page that says less than the ad did, or says it to a different person, gets treated as a bait and switch.
How it works
Community-to-page matching through the ad group
Reddit passes no keyword, but your tracking template passes campaign, ad group and ad as UTM parameters. Tailor reads those on the click and serves the variant mapped to that ad group: headline, proof point, screenshot and CTA written for that community. See the full targeting guide.
Connecting your Reddit Ads account adds the piece only Reddit has. Tailor reads campaign, ad group and ad performance, plus the communities the ads appeared in. That tells you which subreddits are driving clicks that do not convert, which is where the next page variant should go.
You can also let Tailorβs agent propose the variant from the ad creative and community context, build it, and queue it for your approval. Same URL, no new pages, nothing changes in the ad.
- Ad group (the set of communities or interests you bought)
- Creative theme (what the ad claimed)
- Campaign objective (traffic, conversions, app installs)
Reddit-specific patterns
What makes Reddit different from Meta and LinkedIn
- Communities are the targeting unit
- You buy placement in subreddits and interest groups, not on keywords. An ad group aimed at r/startups and one aimed at r/marketing carry different intent even when the creative is the same. The page should know which one sent the click.
- Carry the ad's promise
- If the ad named a specific problem, the headline and first proof point should name the same one. It needs one headline and one proof point, so it is a cheap first test.
- Comments shape the click
- Visitors often arrive after reading the comment thread on your ad. Objections raised there are the objections the page has to answer. Tailor's competitor and review tracking surfaces those recurring objections as test ideas.
- Lower volume per ad group
- Reddit ad groups rarely produce Meta-scale traffic. Test fewer, bigger changes per segment, and let Tailor's traffic thresholds tell you when a result holds up.
- No learning reset
- Because Tailor adapts the existing URL, you can keep iterating the page without touching the ad destination or restarting delivery.

Measurement
Proving it with Reddit-sized traffic
Reddit ad groups are smaller than Meta ad sets, so the measurement plan matters more than the number of variants.
- Results by tagged ad group, so a win in one ad group is not averaged away by a miss in another. For community-level conclusions, give each community its own ad group
- One primary goal and one or two bold changes per ad group, rather than ten small ones
- Goals tied to signups, trials or pipeline, not clicks on the page
- Exposure events in GA4, Amplitude or Segment, next to the Reddit Pixel data you already have
- Alerts when an ad group's conversion rate drops, before the budget keeps buying it
Tailor tells you when a result has enough traffic to trust. Until then it says so, rather than declaring a winner. Set up conversion goals.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Whatever you put in the tracking template: campaign, ad group and ad name as UTM parameters. Reddit does not pass a keyword, so the ad group, which usually maps to a set of communities or an interest, is the main targeting signal.
Yes. With a Reddit Ads account connected, Tailor reads campaign, ad group and ad performance plus the communities the spend ran in. No other channel passes that signal, and it feeds test ideas.
Tailor adapts the existing URL in place, so the destination in your ad does not need to change.
Yes. The Reddit Pixel stays on the page as it is. Tailor measures the experiment against your own goals and can send exposure events to GA4, Amplitude or Segment, so you compare experiment groups in Tailor or your analytics while Reddit keeps tracking conversions.
Reddit targets communities and interests rather than keywords or job titles, so the ad group is the strongest signal about who clicked. Matching the page to that ad group is the test worth running first.
Make the page as specific as the subreddit.
