When to use it
When a genuinely time-limited offer runs on a top-ten page by visitors and the copy never says when it ends.
How to run it
- 1Add honest deadline copy near the CTA, like 'Offer ends Friday at midnight' or 'Price goes up June 1', optionally with a countdown. Never fake a deadline that resets.
- 2Add a slim deadline bar at the top of the page with a live countdown in the visitor's own timezone, naming what ends.
Why it works
Give a reason to act now
A stated deadline turns 'later', which usually means never, into now. Marcus Taylor's documented urgency test (CXL) lifted sales 332% by making a real deadline explicit with countdown messaging.
